Rocket Lab seeks a Systems Engineer – Mechanical to work at our Auckland site on the Neutron program. You will bridge mechanical and fluid systems across Thermofluids, Propulsion, GNC, and Structures, driving design, verification, and integration to meet program objectives.

The role requires 1–5 years of multidisciplinary systems experience, strong communication, and CAD proficiency. You will join a small, high-performing team focused on learning and delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
• 1-5 years industry experience in Structures, Fluid Systems, Mechanisms or Propulsion.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary systems with cross-disciplinary awareness of avionics, GNC or RF.
• Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to guide projects from concept to completion.
• Proven communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and engineering professionals.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines within a high-pressure environment.
• Working knowledge of CAD and Engineering drawings.

Aufgaben

• Drive cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical and fluid systems integrate seamlessly to deliver the vehicle’s objectives.
• Verify requirements through analysis and test with traceability and documentation.
• Own emergent systems; architect solution and drive it through design, verification and implementation.
• Define and improve interface management processes for production-ready systems.
• Contribute to technical program decisions by identifying gaps and crafting fixes.
• Communicate product status internally and externally with incomplete information.
• Define and uphold high-quality systems engineering processes.
