Job summary

Central Otago District Council in Cromwell is seeking a friendly Swim Teacher to deliver high-quality learn-to-swim lessons and promote water safety. You will work closely with the Swim School Manager and aquatics team to support swimmers of all ages, from infants to adults, and help them build confidence in the water.

The role provides full training, ongoing support, and opportunities to develop teaching skills within an established swim school.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn, take feedback and adapt lessons.
• Positive, team-focused attitude with good organisation and basic computer literacy.
• Current NZ Swim Teaching Qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, safe learn-to-swim lessons for all ages.
• Plan and deliver lessons in line with Swim School programmes.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and caregivers.
• Maintain accurate records and progress updates.
• Work with Swim School team to deliver Water Skills for Life programme to schools.
• Collaborate with Swim School Manager and aquatics team while maintaining qualifications.
