Job summary

Generate Zero is seeking a sustainability data analyst for a 10-week fixed-term internship in Auckland. You will work with the Sustainability and Data teams to support carbon reporting, emissions disclosures, and ESG data initiatives.

The role offers flexibility to roll into part-time work after the initial period and requires study or recent completion in sustainability and data analytics. Ideal candidates will have exposure to carbon accounting, emissions reporting, and relevant ESG

Qualifications

Studying towards, or recently completed (within 12 months) a qualification in sustainability and data analytics/data science.
Experience with SQL and/or Python is advantageous; comfort with Excel and Office tools.

Responsibilities

Support enterprise clients with carbon accounting, greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and climate disclosures.
Research and validate emissions factors, sustainability datasets, and reference data used in the Generate Zero platform.
Assist with development of carbon accounting methodologies, including financed emissions calculations.
Analyse large datasets to identify trends, improve data quality, and support audit-ready reporting.
Contribute to new capabilities including modern slavery risk screening and ESG data solutions.
Collaborate with Sustainability, Data, and Product teams to test functionality and document methodologies.
