Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Hawkes Bay is seeking a Registered Nurse for General and Vascular Surgery to join a dynamic, supportive team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital.

In this 0.8 FTE, part-time role you will deliver high-quality nursing care across the surgical journey, perform assessments, care planning, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote patient recovery and experience.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Previous surgical nursing experience or a strong interest in developing a career within surgical services.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with patients and whānau.
• A commitment to professional development, quality improvement, and culturally safe care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their surgical journey, delivering comprehensive assessments, care planning, treatment, and evaluation.
• Work closely with patients, whānau, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure care is evidence-based and patient-centred.
• Support development of students, graduates, and new team members and contribute to education and health promotion.
