Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand in the Waikato region is seeking reliable Surfacing Crew Drivers to join busy road construction projects. You will drive Class 2, 4 or 5 vehicles and support daily site operations.

A valid NZ licence, health and safety focus, and ability to work with a team are essential; night shifts/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Class 2, 4 or 5 licence is required.
• Previous civil, roading, or surfacing experience is preferred.
• WTR endorsements are an advantage.
• A strong commitment to health and safety is essential.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Flexible to work occasional night shifts and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Driving Class 2, 4 or 5 vehicles to transport asphalt, chipseal materials, and equipment.
• Supporting surfacing crews with daily site operations.
• Assisting with loading, unloading, and site set-up.
• Carrying out daily vehicle pre-start checks and basic maintenance.
• Completing logbooks and required site documentation.
• Working safely around heavy machinery and live traffic environments.
• Assisting with general labouring duties when required.
