Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Class 2 Driver / Asphalt Labourer to join a small, hardworking crew across Hamilton and the wider Waikato. This role is not just driving; you’ll help with asphalt preparation, laying, repairs and general labour.

You’ll drive Class 2 vehicles, transport asphalt and materials, assist with laying and site duties, and work closely with a tight-knit team while following site safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Full Class 2 NZ Driver Licence – essential.
• Previous asphalt or roading experience – essential.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 vehicles to and from worksites.

Class 2 licence. Asphalt experience? Happy to get out of the truck and get stuck in.

Tradestaff Hamilton is looking for an experienced Class 2 Driver / Asphalt Labourer to join a small, hardworking crew working across Hamilton and the wider Waikato. This is not just a driving role. You’ll be expected to jump out of the truck and work alongside the team, assisting with asphalt preparation, laying, repairs and general labouring.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Driving Class 2 vehicles to and from worksites
• Transporting asphalt, materials and equipment
• Assisting with asphalt laying and preparation
• Raking, shovelling and spreading asphalt
• General civil and roading labouring
• Working closely within a small crew
• Following site and traffic management procedures
• Completing physically demanding outdoor work

What We’re Looking For

• Full Class 2 NZ Driver Licence – essential
• Previous asphalt or relevant roading experience – essential
• Comfortable getting out of the truck and completing hands‑on labouring
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Able to work effectively as part of a small team
• Health and safety conscious
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test
