Job summary

IDEA Services Ltd in Wellington provides support for adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them build confidence, independence, and meaningful lives within their homes and communities. No previous health-sector experience is required, as full training is offered to enthusiastic learners.

Roles include flexible shifts, weekend work, and sleepovers, with progression through Levels 2–4 Health and Wellbeing qualifications and a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver’s license is required.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

No two days are ever the same! More than providing support, you'll play an important role in helping people build confidence, develop independence, and live life on their own terms. Every day brings opportunities to encourage growth, celebrate achievements, overcome challenges, and support individuals to reach goals that matter to them.

No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
