Job summary

Hōhepa Canterbury is seeking a passionate Support Coordinator to provide 1:1 support for Hayley at Motuhake Service in Halswell. You will help with daily routines, encourage independence, and enable participation in community activities.

You will read situations, problem solve, and apply boundaries around food security related to Prader Willi Syndrome, while assisting with personal care, cooking and medications. Training is provided, with fixed rosters and a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• NZ Driver's Licence is required and ability to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

We're searching for a creative, enthusiastic Support Coordinator to support Hayley on a 1:1 basis to live a fulfilling, active, and meaningful life. Hayley lives at Motuhake Service in Halswell with three flatmates. She is fun-loving, creative, and energetic, with a passion for crafts, especially knitting and enjoys being involved in activities that interest her. Hayley values the independence and routine of her paper round and participating in everyday community life. Hayley is looking for a Support Coordinator who can encourage her interests, share a laugh, and help make each day enjoyable. When she isn't creating, she enjoys movies and theatre. Hayley has 1:1 support during the week and Prader Willi Syndrome, so it's important you understand and can support boundaries around food security while helping her live a full life.

In this role you will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focusing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space. Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.95 and $30 per hour.

Rostered hours:

• Tuesday 9am to 3:45pm
• Thursday 9am to 3:45pm
• Friday 9am to 3:45pm

Total Hours per fortnight: 40.5
