Job summary

IDEA Services seeks compassionate Support Workers to empower people with intellectual disabilities to live the life they choose. You’ll help with learning new skills, community connections, employment goals, and personal interests, while delivering person-centred support.

No prior health sector experience is required; full training is provided. Availability across day/evening/night/weekend shifts, strong communication, and a NZ driver's licence are valued.

Qualifications

• Availability to support 24/7 services - daytime, evening, overnight and weekends.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Empower people with intellectual disabilities to build independence and achieve goals.
• Help with learning new skills, connecting with community, employment, and personal interests.
• Build genuine relationships, celebrate milestones, and observe positive impact daily.
• Provide person-centred support across a variety of shifts as needed.
