Job summary

IDEA Services is seeking a part-time Support Worker in Dunedin to assist people with intellectual disabilities with daily routines, health, wellbeing and independence. You will work flexible rosters, including mornings, evenings and weekends, helping individuals to participate meaningfully in life.

No prior experience is required as training and support are provided; ideal for people-focused applicants who enjoy teamwork and helping others. Apply to make a real difference in the community.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to different people and situations.
• Reliable, responsible and able to work as part of a team.
• Holds a full NZ drivers licence.

Looking for meaningful part-time work that fits around your life? Join us as a Support Worker and make a genuine difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. You’ll support people with daily routines, independence, health and wellbeing, interests and goals, while helping them stay connected with their whānau and community.

If you’re a people-focused person who genuinely enjoys helping others, we’ll provide the training and support you need to get started. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who can work at least one weekend each fortnight.

You don’t need previous Support Worker experience –we’re looking for people with the right attitude, strong people skills and a genuine interest in helping others.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is caring, patient and kind, whotreats others with respect and dignity
• Enjoys building positive relationships and helping people have great days
• Is reliable, responsible and comfortable working as part of a team
• Has good communication skills and can adapt to different people and situations
• Is comfortable providing practical, hands-on support when needed
• Holds a full NZ driver's licence
