Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking a compassionate Support Worker based in Alexandra to assist clients at home and in the community. You will follow care plans and provide practical and emotional support to help people live independently.

Responsibilities include meal prep, personal care, medication assistance, and light home tasks. A full NZ driver’s license and reliable transport are preferred, with shifts across mornings and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare is advantageous.
• Full NZ driver’s license is required.
• Own reliable transport is preferred.
• Shifts require flexibility and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to live independently at home and in the community.
• Support with meal preparation and personal cares (showering, toileting, etc).
• Provide medication assistance as prescribed by care plans.
• Assist with home management and transportation as needed.

Monday-8:00 am - 9:00 am/11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Tuesday-8:00 am - 9:00 am/2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Wednesday-8:00 am - 9:00 am

Thursday-8:00 am - 9:00 am/2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Friday-8:00 am - 9:00 am

Sunday-8:00 am - 11:00 am/4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
• hoisting
