Job description

Our vision: Nature is thriving in Aotearoa | Te Oranga o te Ao Tūroa
Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a driven Supplier Advisor to join our Conservation Services Category within the Procurement Team and help shape how DOC partners with suppliers to support conservation efforts across Aotearoa.

At DOC, procurement is more than just contracts — it's about building strategic, value‑driven partnerships that support frontline staff and advance our Treaty commitments. We're operating under a centre‑led, category‑based model to deliver smarter, more effective services — and we need your expertise to make it happen.

As a Supplier Advisor, you’ll work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver meaningful procurement outcomes. Your work will span the full procurement lifecycle, from strategy to supplier management.

  • Conducting continuous market research and spend analysis to identify trends, savings opportunities, and process improvements
  • Partnering with business groups to understand value‑for‑money outcomes and category objectives
  • Leading end‑to‑end procurement processes, including planning, RFx development, tender evaluations, and contract negotiation
  • Advising on procurement strategy, approach‑to‑market options, and cross‑agency initiatives
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts to ensure feasibility and alignment with organisational needs
  • Managing supplier performance, preferred supplier lists, and panel arrangements to drive compliance, value, and continuous improvement
  • Supporting the development and improvement of procurement tools, templates, and processes

This is a full time, fixed term role until 29 October 2027 providing parental leave cover. This role is based in Wellington, but other locations will be considered for the right candidate.
