Horizon Energy Group (HEG) in Queenstown seeks an experienced Trades Supervisor to lead our multi-trade service delivery team across HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical. This hands-on leadership role oversees trade staff and subcontractors, drives quality service and safety, and scopes/prices works to maintain margins.

Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, you will mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate workloads, and help grow our regional operations while fostering client

Qualifications

• Recognised trade qualification in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related building services trade.
• 3+ years' supervisory experience in a service environment.
• 5+ years' post-trade experience in a service environment.
• Current NZ Class 1 driver licence (or ability to obtain one).
• Sound knowledge of building services regulations and health & safety obligations across multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong day to day leadership and mentoring of HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical trade staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure contractual, statutory, and health & safety obligations are met across all trades.
• Scope and price remedial and quoted works to agreed margins.
• Coordinate workloads across trades to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Support client relationships and contribute to branch performance and growth.

About the Role

Following feedback, this role has been broadened from an HVAC only focus to a Trades Supervisor position. We are seeking an experienced supervisor to lead our multi trade service delivery team in Queenstown, with responsibility across HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical staff.

This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee trade staff and subcontractors, ensure high quality service delivery across multiple disciplines, and support the continued growth of our regional operations. This is a hands on role with real influence over service delivery, people development, and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• A recognised trade qualification (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related building services trade)
• A strong trade background with 3+ years' supervisory experience in a service environment
• 5+ years' post‑trade experience in a service environment
• Current NZ Class 1 driver licence (or ability to obtain one)
• Sound knowledge of building services regulations and health & safety obligations across multiple trades
• Proven experience leading diverse trade teams
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise, plan, and manage competing demands
• Experience in scoping and pricing works
