Job summary

MASH Trust in Palmerston North is seeking Summer Support Workers to help people maintain a high quality of life and home environment while encouraging active participation in their community. Roles can be full-time or part-time and are fixed term from November 2026 until February 2027; start and finish dates are negotiable.

You must be available to work all shifts, weekdays and weekends, with schedules provided in advance.

Qualifications

A Passion for People: Be patient, friendly, and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate, and genuinely connect with people

Team Player: Professional, honest, and a reliable team-player with a flexible mindset.
Practical Skills: The ability to prompt personal cares, such as showering and dressing.
Driver Licence: A Full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
Flexibility and availability over the holiday period is essential

Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will be supporting others to maintain a high quality of life and home environment, while encouraging full participation within their community.
A Summer pool staff member works across a variety of homes and shifts that we have available due to annual leave and training; you will receive your schedule in advance.
These fixed term positions run from November 2026 until February 2027; start and finish dates are negotiable, and availability all shifts is required.
