Job summary

Yealands Wine Group is seeking a warm and confident Summer Cellar Door Host for our Seddon Cellar Door. You will welcome guests, guide tastings, share our sustainability story and help with daily operations during the Nov–Mar peak season.

The role offers 12–40 hours per week at a competitive hourly rate. You’ll join a fun, family-style team and have the chance to learn about Yealands’ winemaking heritage while engaging with visitors from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or retail experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ and legally able to serve alcohol in NZ.
• Ability to work over Christmas/New Year and weekends to support peak visitor numbers.

We’re looking for a passionate and personable Summer Cellar Door Host to join our team. You’ll be the face of Yealands—welcoming guests, guiding them through tastings, sharing our story, and ensuring every visitor leaves with a smile (and maybe a bottle or two!)

This is a fixed term opportunity (Nov – March) working (12 – 40 hours) per week, at our stunning coastal Seddon Cellar Door location.

So, what does this role look like?

• Share the Yealands sustainability story with authenticity and enthusiasm
• Provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with visitors
• Assist with wine sales, stock management, and daily operations
• Support events and group bookings as needed

Are you the right person for us?

We are looking for:

• A warm, confident communicator, with a love for wine and people & different cultures.
• Hospitality or retail experience preferred
• The ability to work over Christmas/ New Year and weekends (to support the team with peak visitor numbers)
• Wine knowledge is a plus, but passion and willingness to learn are key
• Must be 18+ and legally able to serve alcohol in NZ
• Hold a current NZ Drivers Licence and eligible working rights
