Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a Student Support Adviser in Waipapa Taumata Rau to work directly with students, identify their support needs, and help improve their experience and success at the university.

You will build and monitor support plans, coordinate with mentors and faculty staff, and advocate for equitable access while delivering excellent customer service in a busy, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivery of academic and pastoral support for students.
• Experience delivering high levels of customer service.
• Understanding of equity issues in New Zealand.
• Ability to plan and execute quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Identify students at risk and at high achievement; create and review support plans.
• Establish learning support programmes and ongoing operational support.
• Monitor progress of support plans.
• Foster relationships with mentors and university staff and coordinators.
• Collaborate with central support to assist students.
• Provide equity advocacy and guidance.
