Job summary

MainPower New Zealand Limited in Rangiora is offering a paid Engineering Internship for Summer 2026/27. You will work with experienced engineers on real projects that support a safe, reliable electricity network for our North Canterbury community.

You will gain exposure to different areas of the business, build practical skills, and contribute to meaningful work while completing 2–3 years of tertiary study and maintaining legal right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Engineering
• Have completed 2–3 years of tertiary study
• Be eligible to work in New Zealand (residency or valid visa required)

About you

To be considered, you’ll:

• Be currently studying Engineering
• Have completed 2–3 years of tertiary study
• Be curious, motivated, and keen to learn
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand (residency or valid visa required)

What you need to know

• Our head office is based in Rangiora (not Christchurch)
• Internships run approximately November 2026 – February 2027
• We have a mandatory shutdown period of around two weeks over Christmas and New Year
