Job summary

Qjumpers in Hawke's Bay is seeking a part-time Student Accommodation Assistant to support Taradale facilities. The role focuses on housekeeping, presentation, and resident support, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive student living environment.

The Student Services team, reporting to the Student Accommodation Manager, will handle inspections, wellbeing initiatives, and coordination with contractors. NZ residency or valid work visa is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, accommodation, hospitality, or a similar hands-on role.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical approach.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort with digital systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and preparing bedrooms and shared living areas for new residents.
• Undertaking regular housekeeping and accommodation inspections.
• Supporting residents to maintain clean and tidy living environments.
• Monitoring accommodation standards and maintaining housekeeping supplies.
• Identifying maintenance and health and safety issues and coordinating repairs.
• Undertaking minor maintenance tasks and liaising with contractors.
• Participating in an after-hours on-call roster (approximately one weekend in every three).
• Supporting resident wellbeing and contributing to an inclusive accommodation community.
