Job summary

John Jones Steel in New Zealand is seeking Experienced Riggers and Composite Floor Decking staff to join our team on diverse site projects. You will erect structural steel, read drawings, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment.

Some assignments may require out-of-town travel for extended periods. We value physical fitness, strong safety commitment, and the ability to follow directions in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience in steel erection.
• Able to read and interpret structural steel drawings for on-site erection.
• Good English communication and direction-taking abilities.
• Ability to undertake and record daily checks of machinery/equipment and report issues.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects.
• Dogman/rigging licence preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Erect structural steel on site per drawings and plan.
• Fix and secure steel elements according to drawings.
• Read and interpret plans to set out jobs on site.
• Record daily checks of machinery/equipment and report issues.
• Work on various sites, including out-of-town projects.
