Job summary

FirstCape, a leading wealth advisory and asset management firm in New Zealand, seeks an Analyst, Strategy to deliver high-quality analytical support across strategic initiatives and M&A opportunities. You’ll work with the Strategy team, Manager of Strategy, and Head of Corporate Development to shape the organisation’s direction.

The role emphasises financial analysis, market research, and collaboration with senior stakeholders to drive growth and operational improvements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in corporate finance, investment banking, strategy consulting or similar.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Commerce or similar.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of strategic projects with planning and high-quality analysis.
• Provide analytical and financial modelling across initiatives and M&A opportunities.
• Assist with evaluating partnerships and growth opportunities.
• Support M&A and disposal projects with financial models and analyses.
• Conduct market, competitor and industry analysis.
• Support business planning by analyzing financial and operational performance.
• Prepare presentations and materials for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and align on initiatives.
• Manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
