Job summary

FirstCape is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to join the Harbour Investment Operations Team in Auckland. The role provides middle office support across equities, fixed income and multi-asset portfolios, with client reporting and trade matching responsibilities.

You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop investment operations knowledge, gain exposure to diverse asset classes, and contribute to operational excellence while focusing on accuracy and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Strong financial literacy and market awareness.
• Experience or knowledge of NZ funds industry.
• Familiarity with middle/back office investment operations is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Conduct currency exposure and hedge ratio checks on global equity portfolios.
• Perform reconciliations between holdings on Bloomberg AIM and data from custody/investment accounting providers.
• Assist in management of operational activities for private asset classes.
• Support daily matching of NZ and AU market trades.
• Assist in the preparation of fund performance information for monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Support monthly operational activities across multiple asset classes.
• Assist with setup of new Multi Asset Clients, IMAs, mandates and external managers.
• Contribute to Operations and wider business project initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Maintain accuracy, risk management and process integrity.
• Complete ad hoc operational tasks as required.
