Job summary

Hamilton City Council is seeking a Recruitment Specialist to join our People, Performance and Culture Group. You’ll manage end-to-end recruitment, partner with hiring managers, attract, select and onboard great talent, and ensure a positive candidate experience.

You’ll work with a team of three Recruitment Specialists within our HR Delivery team, in a collaborative, high-performing environment that values service excellence and delivering outcomes for stakeholders and the community.

Qualifications

• Recruitment experience in-house or agency, or passion for recruitment.
• Understanding of Local Government and Council.
• Ability to become a subject matter expert in strategic sourcing, data and technology, or process design.
• Understanding of employment branding and attraction.
• Ability to think differently, act with integrity, work together, and makes things happen.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to implementing Council’s attraction and talent management strategies through recruitment and selection.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing and building effective working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
• Agile, adaptable, and collaborative.
• Self-awareness that mindset is the foundation of performance and an ability to develop self and others in this regard.
• Ability to handle multiple demands and tight deadlines.
• The desire and drive to become a successful Recruitment Specialist and trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, partnering with hiring managers to attract, select and onboard great talent.
• Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and support throughout the recruitment journey while ensuring candidates receive a positive experience.
• Create engaging job advertisements and coordinate offers and onboarding.
• Develop sourcing strategies, build talent pipelines and promote our employer brand.
• Collaborate with the HR Delivery team to deliver high-quality recruitment outcomes.
