Job summary

Manukau Institute of Technology in Auckland seeks an experienced Procurement Lead to drive strategic sourcing and deliver value-driven outcomes across a broad spend portfolio. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will lead end-to-end procurement, provide commercial advice, and ensure compliant, sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

This senior role requires a minimum of 10 years in procurement, a related university degree, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

At least 10 years' experience in procurement, sourcing or commercial management.
University degree or equivalent professional qualification relating to procurement or business.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing methodologies, supplier management and contract management.
Experience with New Zealand Government procurement frameworks, processes and policies.
Proven capability leading complex procurement projects and commercial negotiations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement activities for complex, high-value requirements across diverse categories.
Develop procurement strategies delivering value for money, transparency and robust commercial outcomes.
Provide expert advice to senior leaders on sourcing approaches, negotiations and contracting.
Drive procurement best practice and strengthen organisational procurement capability.
Manage strategic supplier relationships and key contracts, monitor performance and risk.
Lead commercial negotiations within delegated authority and oversee renewals.
