Job summary

New Zealand Government is recruiting a Senior Advisor in the Bay of Plenty to support the Healthy School Lunches and related nutrition programmes across schools and kura. You will work with schools, suppliers and partners, ensuring nutritious meals and contract compliance while providing expert guidance and proactive stakeholder engagement.

The role requires strong relationship management, regional travel and a background in nutrition or food service.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating with multiple schools, kura, suppliers and partners.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
• Understanding of food service operations, safety, and kitchen management.
• Knowledge of contract management and supplier agreements.
• Familiarity with Te Reo Maori and tikanga Maori is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to schools, kura, suppliers and partners in the Bay of Plenty region.
• Ensure tamariki receive nutritious lunches each school day.
• Advise on programme delivery and outcomes to improve student wellbeing.
• Monitor supplier performance against contractual standards.
• Travel regularly to engage with schools and stakeholders across the region.
