Job summary

Crown Infrastructure Delivery Ltd (CID) is seeking a Procurement and Project Controls Specialist to provide expert procurement, commercial and project controls support across a portfolio of government infrastructure projects.

You'll lead procurement processes under NZ Government Procurement Rules, advise project teams, manage budgets and financial forecasting, and contribute to risk management and project controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in government procurement within infrastructure or construction.
• Knowledge of New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and public sector practices.
• Experience administering construction or consultant contracts, including variations, claims and commercial management.
• Background in Quantity Surveying or commercial management, procurement, project controls or related discipline.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills across internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.
• Advantageous: project finance, risk management experience, or familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
• Membership of NZIQS or a relevant professional body is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes in accordance with NZ Government Procurement Rules and Broader Outcomes requirements.
• Provide expert procurement and commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Support project financial management activities, including budgets, forecasting, commitments and commercial governance.
• Contribute to project controls disciplines such as risk management.
• Provide robust analysis, reporting and assurance to support informed decision-making.
• Build strong relationships with government agencies, consultants, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to CID's Project Support Office capability and best practice frameworks.
