Job summary

Queenstown Lakes District Council in Queenstown, NZ, is seeking a Planning & Development Project Specialist to lead and coordinate priority work programmes, including reform readiness and FTAA delivery, within the Technical Support team.

The role focuses on applying strong project management practices to ensure programmes are well planned, monitored and delivered on time, with quality outcomes, and to support governance processes.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in project management or programme coordination in complex environments.
• Tertiary qualification in business/planning/public admin with PM certification preferred.
• Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder management; coordinate across teams and priorities.
• Experience coordinating projects: maintain plans, track actions/risks, and report to managers.
• Experience supporting governance/steering groups, incl. agenda prep and minutes.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of priority Planning & Development work programmes.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate regulatory and organisational change initiatives.
• Monitor performance, risks and dependencies and support mitigations.
• Coordinate business process improvements and service enhancements.
• Support technology-enabled improvements and digital transformation.
• Prepare governance reports, agendas and minutes; build cross-team relationships.
