Job summary

Queenstown Lakes District Council in New Zealand’s Otago region is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Economic Futures team. You’ll drive the smooth delivery of projects and programmes that shape long-term economic outcomes for our district, blending administration, coordination and relationship-building in a dynamic community.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in business, business support or local government environments.
• Project and budget management experience, ideally including Agile.
• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent communication and digital literacy, with Microsoft Office experience.
• Process-improvement mindset with strong attention to detail and systems.
• High motivation and adaptability, with ability to manage changing priorities.
• Strong appetite to contribute to community wellbeing and positive outcomes for the district.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to workshops and events that shape the district’s economic direction.
• Coordinating and tracking a portfolio of complex projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Administering budgets and funding, including government funding sources and external funding applications.
• Managing procurement and contract processes, including MOUs, supplier agreements and accountability reporting.
• Building strong stakeholder relationships across QLDC, industry partners, government agencies and the business community.
• Supporting Agile ways of working amongst the team and identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
• Representing QLDC at sector and industry events and supporting occasional out-of-hours activities when required.
