Job summary

ACC in Wellington is seeking a Manager of Marketing & Communications to lead the media, digital marketing, content and brand teams. You will set strategic direction, prioritise initiatives and empower teams to deliver high‑impact campaigns and content that build trust and engage the public.

You will champion audience insight and behavioural change to improve recovery outcomes for New Zealanders, while advising the CEO and senior leaders on complex, high‑profile matters.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading high-performing communications, marketing or media teams in a large or complex organisation.
• Deep expertise in media engagement, digital marketing and content, or brand and identity.
• Experience developing communications, marketing or public engagement approaches that deliver measurable results.
• Strong strategic thinking and sound judgement, including advising chief executives and senior leaders on complex matters.
• Experience using data, research and audience insight to set priorities and evaluate impact.
• Strong financial, resource and risk management experience.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in organisational practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead ACC's media engagement, digital marketing, content and brand teams.
• Set the strategic direction and priorities for these specialist functions.
• Empower teams to develop and deliver high-quality strategies, campaigns and content.
• Provide clear direction, sound judgement and constructive challenge.
• Champion the use of audience insight and behavioural change to strengthen public understanding and recovery outcomes.
• As a member of External Engagement leadership, advise the CEO and senior leaders and help set broader priorities.
