Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a senior leader to own and advance the High Value and International Payments domain, ensuring resilience, compliance and alignment with evolving customer needs. You will drive strategy, participate in industry forums, and translate regulatory changes into actionable requirements.

Based in Auckland, you will partner with Product, Digital, Technology, Risk and Operations to seize opportunities, strengthen payment rails and foster industry collaboration for

Qualifications

• Experience in high value payments, transaction banking, or international payments.
• Strong understanding of cross-border payment methods and settlement.
• Knowledge of payment-system rules, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience engaging with regulators, industry bodies, and external stakeholders.
• Experience shaping organisational positions on industry change and policy initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions.
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate developments into actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive papers and briefings.

Responsibilities

• Lead Westpac New Zealand's High Value and International Payments domain and ecosystem engagement.
• Own strategic position, rails, standards, and operating frameworks for high-value and international payments.
• Represent the bank in industry and regulatory forums and shape future directions.
• Drive governance, risk, and oversight for high-value payment capabilities and resilience.
