The Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention, hosted by the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand, is seeking a dedicated communications specialist to lead strategic communications and deliver high‑quality advice and products across a multi‑agency programme.

You will shape framing and key messages for reports, cross‑government communications, and Ministerial talking points, while coaching others and building strong relationships with stakeholders across government.

Qualifications

• Significant communications and media advisory experience.
• Experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders.
• Ability to develop compelling content for multiple audiences and channels.
• Ability to influence across organisational and agency boundaries.
• Navigate complex, sensitive, high-profile issues with sound judgement and political awareness.
• Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and public service.

Responsabilités

• Lead communications planning for the Centre to support delivery across a complex, multi-agency work programme.
• Support a coordinated, whole‑of‑government approach to communications across the family violence portfolio.
• Develop clear, compelling content and narratives for a range of audiences and channels.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to lift communications capability across the Centre and wider system.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Ministerial offices and government agencies.
