Job summary

Fonterra in Auckland, NZ, is seeking a Commercial Manager - Energy to shape long-term sourcing strategies for electricity, gas, biomass and transport fuels. You will negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and provide market insights to guide decarbonisation across our operations.

This senior role requires a strategic thinker with deep energy markets or procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strategic thinker with deep experience in energy markets or strategic procurement.
• Ability to solve complex problems and identify risk and value.
• Strong ability to influence and build productive relationships internally and externally.
• Ten years of energy markets/strategic procurement experience in large organizations.
• Proficiency in cost modelling, risk management and analytical tools.
• Understanding of food, agriculture, or construction sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for sourcing energy commodities long-term: electricity, gas, biomass, coal and transport fuels.
• Negotiate, execute and manage contracts with energy suppliers.
• Manage relationships with energy suppliers and broader energy market participants.
• Provide market insights to inform energy transition and decarbonisation plans and regulatory advocacy.
