Job summary

Stats NZ is seeking Design Analysts to join the Measuring a Modern Economy (MME) programme and the Macroeconomic Statistical Delivery Branch, with 1.5 to 2 year fixed-term opportunities in Wellington or Christchurch. The role focuses on modernising economic statistics and delivering high-quality insights for a stronger economy.

You will contribute to front-end analysis, data integration, and the application of automation and AI to improve how data is structured, interpreted, and produced.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or experience in economics, finance, national accounts, accounting, statistics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical capability and data skills.
• Ability to apply economics knowledge to practice across datasets.
