Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking a Senior Advisor Business Strategy to join the Te Pae Oranga Team on a six-month fixed term basis. Based at Police National Headquarters, Wellington, you will support a nationally significant programme working with iwi, providers and partners to address underlying causes of offending and improve whānau outcomes.

You will provide strategic advice, develop performance reporting and lead projects to advance continuous improvement, while building strong relationships

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice, analysis and recommendations in a complex environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports and briefings for senior leaders.
• Experience supporting programmes, projects, or business planning activities and achieving outcomes through influence and collaboration.
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse groups and organisations.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and a commitment to working effectively with Māori, communities, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and monitoring of Te Pae Oranga priorities and work programmes.
• Provide strategic advice, analysis and insights to inform decision-making and programme development.
• Develop performance reporting and identify opportunities to strengthen programme outcomes.
• Lead and support projects that advance continuous improvement and service delivery.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Police, providers, iwi and partner agencies.
