Job summary

Taumata Arowai is seeking a Principal Advisor Ministerial Services and Accountability to lead accountability, planning and performance reporting, and ministerial services. The role provides strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Board, oversees OIA responses, and strengthens the Authority's performance story.

You will work with senior leaders, Ministers Office, auditors and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate and well-judged advice for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in public sector accountability, planning and performance reporting.
• Strong machinery of government knowledge, political neutrality and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of key statutory accountability documents and processes (e.g., SOI, SOP, Annual Report).
• Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive, SLT, Board and senior leaders on accountability and ministerial expectations.
• Lead ministerial services work including official correspondence and OIA responses.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning, reporting and assurance practices for clear decision-making.
• Build trusted relationships with Minister’s Office, auditors, Board and internal stakeholders.
