Job summary

The Principal Adviser at Financial Markets Authority – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko leads strategic planning, performance reporting, and accountability initiatives across the organisation. You will shape the Statement of Intent, performance expectations, and annual reporting while coordinating with senior leaders and governance stakeholders.

You will translate complex strategy into practical actions, engage stakeholders effectively, and provide high-quality drafting support to influence the direction

Qualifications

• Experience leading the development of enterprise strategy, accountability, and performance reporting.
• Strong understanding of organisational strategy, performance frameworks, and public sector accountability requirements.
• Exceptional written communication for senior leaders, Boards, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the FMA's Statement of Intent 2027–2031 and performance measures.
• Align Statement of Intent with Statements of Performance Expectations and Annual Reports.
• Develop Operational Priorities and ensure alignment with Regulatory Priorities.
• Contribute to horizon scanning and organisational performance reporting.
