Job summary

New Zealand Defence Force – Linton is seeking a Stores Assistant to provide specialist stores, inventory and logistics support for 2nd Combat Service Support Battalion. You will handle receipt, issue and accounting of stores, maintain stock records, manage storage areas and assist with freight and distribution across NZDF sites.

Ideal candidates will have stock control experience, SAP proficiency, strong Excel/Word skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently with a NZ

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accurate record keeping are essential.
• Experience with stock control, inventory management or warehousing operations is desirable.
• Experience using SAP.
• Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are important.
• Ability to prioritise work, show initiative and work independently is preferred.
• A full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence is essential.
• Forklift endorsement and dangerous goods handling experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Processing the receipt, issue, transfer and accounting of stores and equipment
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stocktakes
• Managing storage areas and ensuring equipment is stored safely and securely
• Preparing, dispatching and receiving freight and materials
• Providing professional customer service and logistics support to internal stakeholders
