Job summary

The Stores Assistant role at NZDF provides specialist stores, inventory, and logistics support to the 2nd Combat Service Support Battalion, ensuring equipment and materials are accurately managed and available when required.

You will process receipts, issues, and transfers; maintain stock records; manage storage areas; dispatch and receive freight; and deliver professional customer service to internal stakeholders. You may travel across NZDF camps and bases as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Experience with stock control, inventory management or warehousing operations.
• Experience using SAP.
• Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to prioritise work, show initiative and work independently.
• A full Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence (Essential).
• Forklift Endorsement and Dangerous goods handling experience (desirable).

• Processing the receipt, issue, transfer and accounting of stores and equipment
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stocktakes
• Managing storage areas and ensuring equipment is stored safely and securely
