Job summary

Fresh Direct Limited in Tauranga is seeking a reliable Storeperson to join our team. You will support daily warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched safely and efficiently, with attention to product quality.

Role may involve local deliveries; a Class 4 licence is advantageous but not essential. Candidates should have warehousing experience, strong organisational skills, and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehousing, transport, logistics, FMCG, or fresh produce.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic; good teamwork.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management.
• Forklift licence preferred; Class 4 licence advantageous.
• Knowledge of HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming products, load/unload trucks, and check for damage.
• Sort and count returned crates for de-hire.
• Palletise and store products; move non-ambient items to coolstore.
• Complete daily order picking accurately and on time.
• Assist with local deliveries as required.
• Follow SOPs and admin processes including transport docs, GRNs, picking, dispatch, and wastage records.
• Ensure organised, safe storage in coolstore and picking areas.
• Monitor temperatures and maintain product quality in coolstore.
• Keep a clean, secure work environment; store crates/pallets safely.
• Carry out stocktakes and report discrepancies; work with trading team to resolve.

Are you an experienced Storeperson looking for a hands‑on role in a fast-paced warehouse and transport environment?

Fresh Direct Limited is seeking a reliable and motivated Storeperson to join our Tauranga team.

About the Role

This role supports the day‑to‑day warehouse operations, ensuring products are received, stored, picked, and dispatched safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining high standards of product quality and service.

You will also assist with local deliveries as and when required, so a Class 4 licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

What You'll Do

• Receive incoming products, load and unload trucks, and check products for any noticeable damage.
• Sort and count returned crates for de-hire.
• Palletise and store products appropriately, ensuring non-ambient products are promptly moved to coolstore.
• Complete daily order picking accurately and on time.
• Assist with local deliveries as and when required.
• Follow Fresh Direct’s Standard Operating Procedures and administrative processes, including transport documentation, GRNs, picking, dispatch, and wastage records.
• Ensure products are stored in an organised and safe manner, making efficient use of coolstore and picking areas.
• Maintain product quality while in coolstore and monitor temperatures as required.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and secure work environment, ensuring crates and pallets are stored safely in designated areas.
• Carry out stocktakes and promptly report any stock discrepancies or issues.
• Work with the trading team to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Follow all food safety, health and safety, and company requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Ideally, you will have:
• Previous experience in warehousing, transport, logistics, FMCG, or fresh produce.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with stock control and inventory management.
• A current forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• A current Class 4 Driver Licence (an advantage).
• Knowledge of HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements (an advantage).
• Flexibility and availability to work rostered shifts, including weekends as required.

Working Conditions

• Working in ambient and coolstore environments.
• Regular lifting of up to 20kg.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Operating forklifts and pallet jacks where appropriately licensed.
• Assisting with local deliveries as required.
