Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Storeperson for our Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and distributing medical supplies to support patient care and hospital operations.

The role requires accuracy, strong organisation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment alongside a dedicated team. You will use warehouse management systems to track stock and contribute to safe, efficient service.

• Previous experience in healthcare, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain environments.

Responsibilities

• Picking and preparing requisition orders for internal and external customers
• Receiving, checking, and receipting incoming goods
• Unloading deliveries and ensuring stock is stored accurately
• Replenishing inventory and maintaining stock rotation using FIFO principles
• Conducting inventory scans and supporting stock control activities
• Assisting with stocktakes and inventory audits
• Monitoring stock integrity and managing damaged or expired stock
• Maintaining a safe, secure, and organised warehouse environment
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and quality service delivery
• Using warehouse management systems and computerised inventory tools to manage stock movements and customer enquiries.

About the Role

Working as part of a dedicated distribution team, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and distributing products across the health service, helping ensure frontline healthcare teams have the supplies they need to deliver exceptional patient care.

The Distribution team is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of medical supplies and equipment throughout the organisation. The team plays a critical role in supporting clinical services by maintaining efficient inventory management practices and providing high-quality service to internal customers across the hospital and wider health system.
