Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of the store and work independently to ensure smooth functioning
• Ensure the business meets profit targets and operates efficiently on a day-to-day basis
• Regularly review stock, introduce high-demand products, and phase out slow-moving items
• Maintain and continuously improve high standards of customer service
• Promote and advertise the store’s products and services to drive sales
• Ensure security of cash, keys, alarms, and stock at all times
• Set and review pricing strategies to maximise profitability
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers
• Oversee stock management, including stock control systems, tracking, purchasing, discounting, and clearance
• Monitor, control, and analyse stock levels to support business performance
• Determine appropriate product mix and maintain service standards within the store
• Track income and expenses, maintaining a sound understanding of business accounting requirements
• Handle budgeting, cash reconciliation, petty cash management, and banking activities
• Maintain accurate business records and documentation
• Develop and implement purchasing and marketing policies
• Manage advertising, pricing, and promotional activities to sustain and grow sales
• Formulate and execute effective purchasing and marketing strategies
• Assist customers with purchases, provide product advice, and recommend additional items
• Address and resolve customer complaints and feedback in a timely manner
• Establish and enhance customer service standards to strengthen customer relationships
• Recruit, select, train, and supervise staff in line with business needs
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and prepare staff rosters accordingly
• Ensure staff comply with occupational health and safety requirements
• Oversee and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of the premises
