Job summary

South Pacific Meats is seeking a reliable Stockyard Hand to join our Invercargill-area team. The role involves handling stock, supporting animal welfare, reconciling daily stock figures, and ensuring compliant, efficient processing of stock within a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and with stock; training is provided to those with the right attributes to succeed in this role. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment and with stock.
• Experience in animal welfare/working with animals preferred.
• Full training available for the right attributes.

Responsibilities

• Receiving of stock and relevant processes
• Supporting the management of animal welfare within the department
• Reconciling the stock numbers and daily process figures
• Communicating with other departments and key personnel to ensure efficient receipt and processing of stock
• Making sure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are strictly adhered to
• Continuously improving standards and efficiency
• Recording and processing documentation/departmental administration in an accurate and timely manner

Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable Stockyard Hand to join our team at SPM Awarua site, based just outside of Invercargill.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment and has worked with stock previously. This role requires working with live animals and in a team environment and therefore experience in animal welfare/ working with animals is preferred; however full training is available to those who can demonstrate they have the right attributes to be successful in this role.
