Job summary

Mid Argyll Hospital is a community hospital on Scotland’s west coast, providing inpatient services within a 15-bed GP acute ward and access to the A&E department. The Staff Nurse will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care for acute admissions and contribute to efficient patient flow.

The post supports rehabilitation and daycase services within a dynamic rural hospital, with opportunities to work alongside visiting consultants and a strong community mindset.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse post within the Inpatient Services department based at Mid Argyll Hospital.

Mid Argyll Hospital is situated on the west coast of Scotland. It is a Community Hospital within a bustling town.

Inpatient services consists of a 15 bedded GP acute ward which cares for acute admissions. The Accident and Emergency department is located in the hospital. There is also a busy Outpatient department with visiting consultants from a range of specialities.

Rehabilitation services from the multi-disciplinary team are also provided, as are Daycase services to provide adjunct therapies and transfusions, etc.

Mid Argyll affords great opportunities for excellent work/life balance. Outdoor pursuits are available with local organised events such as the Mid Argyll Triathlon and there are great cycling and water sports on the doorstep. The islands of Islay, Gigha, Arran and Jura are easily accessible with a good ferry service.
