The New Zealand Government Joba is seeking a Special Education Advisor in the Hawke's Bay region to join our Learning Support Team. You will work with educators, parents, caregivers and whanau to understand each child’s needs and to develop and monitor personalised learning plans.

You will enable changes to learning environments to boost participation, wellbeing and achievement, liaise with local services, and support collaboration across professionals.

The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.For more details about the role, you can view the Job Description here.About you | Mohou akeTo be successful you will need:Demonstrable in-depth knowledge, experience, and skills in supporting children and young people with additional and complex needs is essential.An ability and willingness to work in collaborative partnership with other professionals, agencies, whanau and the sector.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to sustain productive professional relationships.A genuine commitment to evidence-based interventions, which demonstrate inclusive education practice and contribute to raising student achievement.Fully registered NZ teachers.Additional qualifications in Learning Support would be an advantage.Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.About our group and team | Matau ropu akeTe Mahau takiwa collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the education sector.
