Job summary

AWF New Zealand is seeking an Assembly Technician for a fixed-term 3–6 month role in Onehunga. You will wind HTS magnet coils and assemble precision electromechanical hardware for space technology.

Responsibilities include soldering, bonding, masking, fine assembly of delicate components, and conducting quality inspections, testing, and troubleshooting in a cryogenic lab environment. Strong attention to detail and collaboration with engineering and production teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in precision mechanical or electromechanical assembly in manufacturing, lab, or aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

• Wind HTS magnet coils to exact specifications with precision.
• Assemble electromechanical hardware and magnet components for space technology.
• Perform soldering, bonding, masking and fine assembly on delicate components.
• Conduct quality inspections, testing, and troubleshoot assemblies and fixtures.
• Prepare materials and production documentation in laboratory/cryogenic environment.
