Job summary

Rocket Lab in Auckland offers a Manufacturing Engineering Intern role within the Space Systems Manufacturing Engineering team. You will assist in optimizing fast-paced production, building relationships with engineers and technicians, and taking ownership on improvement projects from day one.

The internship emphasizes real-space technology work, mentoring from expert engineers, and exposure to rocket and satellite systems as you contribute to production tools, PFMEA, and daily issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or advanced degree in an engineering program.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Interest in aerospace and space technology.
• Hands-on project or internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project management – support ongoing production improvement projects.
• Process development and design of production tools and jigs.
• Create work instructions for technicians for developed systems.
• Work through PFMEA for processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts.
• Participate in team meetings and share innovative ideas.
• Support improvement projects, risk assessments, and daily issue management.
