Job summary

JT Plumbing, Drainage and Gas in Tauranga is seeking a Registered Drainlayer to join the team. You will perform drainage works across residential and commercial sites, including new installations and maintenance, with strong onsite problem-solving and collaboration with internal teams.

The role is a temp position with potential for full-time for the right person, and starts Monday 14th September. A current practising licence (PGDB) and a full NZ driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

• Registered Drainlayer with a current practising licence (PGDB).
• Experience across drainage works (residential and commercial).
• Full, clean driver’s licence.
• Applicants must have NZ work visa, residency, or citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out drainage works efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work on both residential and commercial projects, including new installations, maintenance, and problem-solving on site.
• Collaborate with Operations and Estimating teams to ensure success.

About the job

As a Registered Drainlayer, you'll be responsible for carrying out drainage works efficiently and to a high standard. This includes residential and commercial work, new installations, maintenance, and problem-solving on site. You'll have strong support from our internal team, including Operations and Estimating, to help you succeed in the role.

• Registered Drainlayer with a current practising licence (PGDB)
• Experienced across a range of drainage works (residential and commercial)
• Able to carry out both preventative and reactive maintenance
• Confident working unsupervised and delivering high‑quality workmanship
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and relationship‑building skills
• Reliable, motivated, and takes pride in their work
• Full, clean driver's licence
• Customer‑focused with a professional attitude
• Team player who shows initiative and is solution‑focused
• Applicants must have a valid NZ work visa, residency, or citizenship.
