Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair solar panels, battery storage systems, and related electrical components across the Queenstown region. This hands-on role requires independence and a focus on safety and reliability of renewable energy installations.

You will troubleshoot issues, conduct site inspections, maintain service reports, and provide on-site technical support to customers.

Qualifications

Technical qualification or trade certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or a related field.
Proven field technician experience with solar energy systems or electrical installations.
Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring and safety standards.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters and testing equipment.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Queenstown area.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, and perform routine maintenance on solar PV systems and battery storage solutions.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues related to renewable energy equipment.
Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure proper installation and performance.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures during all field operations.
Maintain accurate service reports, inventory logs, and documentation of work performed.
Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding system operation and maintenance.
