Lightforce Solar is hiring for an active, hands-on Solar Installer to join our New Zealand team. You’ll work outdoors across residential and commercial projects, assisting experienced installers and electricians to deliver high-quality solar systems.
No solar experience is required; full on-the-job training is provided. If you are practical, reliable, and enjoy teamwork, this role is a great entry into a fast-growing industry.

You don't need solar experience to get started. We'll provide full on-the-job training. What matters most is your attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Hold a Full NZ Driver Licence
Current work rights in NZ preferred
Have your own basic tools, or be willing to purchase them
Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and spending time on rooftops
Enjoy practical, hands‑on work
Like working outdoors
Show up on time and work hard
Don't take the piss out of Health and Safety
Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Work well in a team
Take pride in delivering quality workmanship
Experience in any of the following is a bonus:
Construction
Roofing
Building
Scaffolding
Farming
Labouring
Landscaping
Electrical trades
Any other physically demanding, practical work
Solar experience is not required (but is a bonus)
This is a hands‑on role working alongside experienced installers and electricians on residential and commercial solar projects.
You'll spend your days working outdoors, on rooftops, and as part of a team delivering high-quality solar installations across New Zealand.
Whether you're coming from construction, roofing, farming, scaffolding, landscaping, labouring, or another practical trade, this could be the opportunity that sets you up for a long-term career in a rapidly growing industry.
Assist with the installation of solar panels, mounting systems, and cabling
Work on residential and commercial projects
Load, transport, organise, and prepare installation materials
Support electricians and installers during project delivery
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety
Complete installation documentation and job records
Participate in toolbox talks and health & safety initiatives
Contribute to a positive team environment
Assist with warehouse and operational support when required
This role may require occasional travel and overnight stays, but we try to keep this minimal.
