Lightforce Solar is seeking motivated people to join our installation teams across New Zealand. No solar experience required—training provided—and attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn are valued above all.
This hands-on role involves outdoor rooftop work alongside installers and project managers on residential and commercial solar projects. You’ll spend days outdoors, collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality solar installations nationwide.

You don't need solar experience to get started. We'll provide full on-the-job training. What matters most is your attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
NZ Electrical Registration, or NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB)
Hold a Full NZ Driver Licence
Current work rights in NZ preferred
Have your own basic tools, or be willing to purchase them
Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and spending time on rooftops
Enjoy practical, hands-on work
Show up on time and work hard
Don't take the piss out of Health and Safety
Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Work well in a team
Experience in any of the following is a bonus:
Solar installations
Residential electrical work
Commercial electrical work
Industrial electrical work
Battery systems
EV chargers
Switchboards and distribution systems
Any other practical electrical experience
Solar experience is not required (but is a bonus)
This is a hands-on role working alongside installers and project managers on residential and commercial solar projects.
You'll spend your days working outdoors, on rooftops, and as part of a team delivering high-quality solar installations across New Zealand.
Whether you're already a qualified electrician looking for a change or wanting to build specialist skills in a growing industry, this could be the opportunity that sets you up for a long-term career in renewable energy.
Install wiring, switchgear, transformers, panels, and mounting systems for solar power solutions across residential and commercial sites
Connect and commission inverters, battery systems, charge controllers, and other energy storage components
Install and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems and related equipment
Interpret electrical diagrams, technical documentation, and solar specifications
Perform electrical safety testing and ensure all work meets NZ standards and regulations
Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and replace components where needed
Support installation teams during project delivery
Assist with warehouse duties including stocktaking, picking, loading and unloading kits when required
Participate in toolbox talks and health & safety initiatives
Contribute to a positive team environment
Provide professional and friendly customer service
This role may require occasional travel and overnight stays, but we try to keep this minimal.
