Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Software Engineering Lead for AccessNow, a cloud-based security solution. You’ll guide the engineering team, set technical direction and ensure secure, reliable software delivery.

You’ll work with Product, Architecture and Quality to shape the product’s evolution and strengthen engineering practices. You’ll lead with accountability, mentoring, and collaboration to deliver high-quality outcomes while growing the team in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Gallagher Security's Cloud Services Value Stream is evolving, and we're looking for a Software Engineering Lead to lead the engineering team behind AccessNow, one of our cloud-based security solutions.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering leadership for an established product, combining technical direction, people leadership and accountability for delivering secure, reliable and high-quality software.

Reporting to the Principle Engineer and working closely with Product, Architecture and Quality, you'll help shape the technical direction of AccessNow, strengthen engineering practices and build a high-performing team that can deliver confidently as the product evolves.

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead a defined engineering discipline within the AccessNow squad, providing technical direction across design, architecture, delivery, risk, quality, and lifecycle considerations
• Take accountability for engineering delivery, ensuring work is well planned, risks and dependencies are managed, and commitments are delivered predictably.
• Build engineering capability through coaching, mentoring, clear expectations, constructive feedback, development planning, and career support
• Partner closely with Product, UX/UI Design, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, Security, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions
• Help teams make sound technical decisions while balancing delivery, quality, risk, cost, compliance, and long-term maintainability
• Champion continuous improvement, modern engineering practices, automation, standards, and team effectiveness

About You

You’re an experienced engineering leader, or a senior engineer ready to step further into leadership. You bring strong engineering judgement, curiosity, and the confidence to guide others through technical decisions, delivery priorities, and change.

You’ll enjoy leading through ambiguity, making work visible, removing blockers, and helping teams deliver predictably while creating an environment where engineers can grow and do their best work.

You’re collaborative, clear in your communication, and comfortable influencing across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience, with deep technical expertise in a core discipline and the ability to work across related systems and technologies
• Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers through clear expectations, feedback, and support
• The ability to balance technical excellence with delivery, quality, risk, cost, compliance, and long-term maintainability
• Clear communication, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to influence across varied stakeholder groups
• A continuous improvement mindset and curiosity about new tools, automation, standards, engineering practices, and industry trends
